Australia's Great Barrier Reef stretches over 2,300km along the Queensland coast - visible from space and home to extraordinary marine biodiversity. Best time to go

June to October for best visibility and calm seas. Dwarf minke whales visit June to July. Coral spawning occurs in November.

Charter season

Year-round, but June to October is peak season with clearest water.

Getting there

Cairns and Airlie Beach (Whitsundays) are the main charter bases. Both accessible from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
