The British Virgin Islands are the world's most popular sailing destination - and for good reason. Sixty islands clustered close together, protected from ocean swells, blessed with steady trade winds, and connected by some of the most scenic passages in the Caribbean. Anchor at the Baths on Virgin Gorda, sail to Anegada's reef-protected lagoon, grab a mooring at the Willy T, and end the day watching the sunset from Jost Van Dyke's famous beach bars.

Year-round with trade winds. December to April is driest and busiest. November and May offer great conditions with fewer boats.

Year-round. Peak season December to April. Some yachts relocate for hurricane season (August to October).

Getting there

Fly to Tortola (Beef Island) via San Juan, St Thomas, or Antigua. Or ferry from St Thomas USVI.
