May brings peak baleen whale migration; July to September is calmest, with sperm whales and marlin at their peak. September is the best all-rounder. Charter season May to October. The transatlantic delivery fleet fills Horta May to July - book berths well ahead. Getting there International flights into Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel) and Horta (Faial) from Lisbon, London, Boston and Frankfurt.
